If there is one dessert that MP can’t pass up, it’s cookies. Decadent chocolate chip cookies are her weakness, followed by crisp butter cookies and just about anything made with dark chocolate. So you can imagine her delight when she discovered Slice & Bake Cookies by Camden-based cookbook author Elinor Klivans. The cookbook features make-ahead cookie dough you can refrigerate or freeze for later use.

While shopping at Sugar Tools in Camden last weekend, MP spotted the perfect stocking stuffer:

Each kit includes seeds, gravel, and a peat pellet to get you started.

These super cute, Grow A Tree seed packets are designed by a Bucksport-based company called Riverhouse Products. They guarantee you can grow a Balsam, Elm or Birch tree in your own backyard with a little sunshine, water, and TLC.

Who knows? Your family might even be able to grow your Christmas tree for next year.
