While shopping at holiday craft fairs over the weekend, MP met Ann Bayer, the owner of Mama Bayer cookies. The self-taught, Falmouth baker makes decorative sugar cookies from her home kitchen. MP would like to welcome our newest sponsor, the Family Ice Center in Falmouth, to Cute Potato! She recently had the pleasure of chatting with Cumberland-based dad, Josh Brainerd, who manages the ice skating arena. Nestled among the Shops at Falmouth Village, the inviting toyshop is filled with award-winning games, crafts, children’s books and developmental toys for infants (to name a few). CP#2 regularly visits to browse their incredible selection of LEGO and Playmobil toys.

There remains a chill in the air, but that hasn’t stopped the team from enjoying the onset of spring. Not long ago, we visited the Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth, first to buy honey from the nature store and then to take a family adventure walk.

The trails at Gilsland Farm are wonderfully manageable for little ones. CP#1 and #2 love running up the bluffs to look at the water below. And they’re especially enamored with Wendy Klemperer’s dramatic, steel wildlife sculptures. Along the trail we met wolves, elk, fox and mountain lions.
