The beach at Sebago Lake State Park

We’re a little biased when it comes to Sebago Lake State Park. Mom and Dad Potato were engaged here, so the park is near and dear to our hearts. For families, Sebago is a perfect destination. The beach is shaded by pine trees, the water is clear and there are plenty of picnic tables and charcoal grills nearby. It’s not unusual to see family reunions, birthday parties or friends picnicking outdoors. And such spreads! There’s also a playground geared towards kids of all ages, trails and a snack bar in walking distance from the beach. And laugh if you will, but we’re thankful the restrooms and the parking areas are in close proximity (the location especially came in handy when CP#1 and #2 were babies).

If your family likes canoeing and kayaking, there’s a boat launch just after the entrance to the park. The water is calm and we’ve enjoyed exploring the cove. It’s an ideal spot for those new to paddling.

The beach at Sebago Lake State Park is one of many favorites that we hope to highlight over the summer. Of course, we’d love to hear your suggestions, too!
