One of MP’s favorite things about this time of year is the abundance of craft shows and holiday fairs throughout the state. Fortunately, CP#1 is always game to shop. She and MP will spend a Saturday morning visiting a few beloved fairs, as well as shows that are new to us.

And before you think, there is no way I’m bringing my little one to a craft show, consider that many feature live music, crafting tables for kids, homemade lunches, cookie walks, and garage sale finds (we’ve often scored on gently used books + games).

MP loves shopping neighborhood craft fairs because there has never been a time she hasn’t discovered a talented local maker. Here are few highlights from over the years, and links to the shows where she originally found their work:

We have been fans of Sheabella Tutus in Brunswick for what seems like for-evah. CP#1 was just 4-years old when she received a Paris Pink tutu for Christmas. She’s outgrown the tutu since, but its tulle beauty lives on at her former nursery school, where little ones transform into ballerinas during morning playtime.

We’ve had our eye on Brunswick-based Sheabella Tutus for quite some time. Founder Carrie Sullivan has been creating her gorgeous tutus for tiny dancers since 2007. Carrie’s attention to detail has garnered national attention, too—her thoughtful designs were among Babble’s Best.

Sheabella tutus come in sizes 3T-5 and 6-8

Sheabella tutus are made of super soft tulle and come in a variety of ballerina-worthy colors and styles. CP #1 loves the girly embellishments, including satin ribbons and faux flowers. MP can’t wait to surprise her this holiday with one of Carrie’s lovely princess length designs.
